For many years Michael held senior marketing communications management roles with a number of leading industrial companies. Later he moved from client side to consultancies. These included Primary Contact, the business-to-business arm of Ogilvy & Mather and Addison Design.   Eventually founding Business Address Ltd, a specialist marketing and corporate communications consultancy in West London.

For ten years now he has been a full-time freelance writer and marketing communications consultant, working with his own direct clients and for other consultancies on a third party basis.
